Can we say "sugar high"?

Why is it that we say "YES" to sooo many things on vacation that we say "NO" to at home?  It could be that the "Sugar Shak" is strategically located so that we pass it frequently or it could be that sometimes it's nice to not be the "Queen of Rules" and let the boys just enjoy! Needless to say...you can tell from the pictures this place is heaven for little boys and daddies! Sam walked right in grabbed a big lollipop and said "go pay daddy"!  Tanner took forever to choose the perfect piece of candy but the great thing about vacation is we have nowhere to be!

After all of this sugar...we need to burn some major "sugar energy" off!  As you can see, riding bikes is the choosen method of transportation at the beach!

burning calories before donuts

This morning we rode our bikes down to Aly's Beach for some donuts.  There were only 3 sprinkle donuts left when we got into the line luckily 2 were left when it was our turn to order!

I wish I had audio on these pictures!  Sam was letting out lots of "ummm", "yummy" and "mmm's" while he was eating his donuts!  So funny...both of my kids sing and hum and hum when they are eating good foods!

Date Night

Chris and I took Tanner on a date tonight while Sam slept at the house with my parents.  We let him choose to do whatever he wanted.  He choose riding bikes to Sugar Shak then going crabbin'! He really wanted ice cream but it was a no go on "dairy free" choices so he choose a root beer shaved ice and some push pop candy instead!
We had a very succesful crabbin' night...advice do not take LED flashlights...not bright enough!
When we got home Sam was asleep and there was a Star Wars marathon on so the date continued...Tanner loves some Star Wars!

SWEET MOMENT OF THE NIGHT
We were almost home and I said "Let's ride a littler longer."  Tanner said "Good idea Mom because I really am loving spending so much time with you guys on my date!"  It was precious...I had to document it:)

crystal clear

Today was one of those rare days at the beach in May.  The water was crystal clear, there was no seaweed and the temperature was perfect!  My pictures have no editing this is simply God's amazing works. It was very crowded today but lucky for us Sam wakes up at 5:30 everyday so we have no problem securing a great spot with the early birds!

Tanner dug all day...he was exhausted1  Talk about great "heavy work" for sensory!  I am starting to re-think the sod in our back yard...maybe we should have made a giant sand pit!

A big uh-oh!

Sam fell off the beach chair today.  He got a HUGE knot on the back oh his head...Chris went back to the house with him so he could rest...I know he's not suppose to sleep but he'd been up since 5:00 and he swam almost all day!  When I tried to put ice on it he said "stop it my mommy"! Oh my!

First Night at Rosemary

It's always so much fun to watch my kids at the beach the first trip of the season!  You would think they had never been.  This is Sam's 4 or 5th time to be at the ocean and he jumped up and down yelling "big sand, big ocean, woohoo"!  Tanner immediately dug a hole to catch the water.  We spent the day at the pool...we were too tired to set up camp at the beach!  We rode bikes to hear a band after dinner and decided to stop by the beach...glad we did!

when you need to pack...

When you need to pack...BUST out the new tent! Nana and Pops gave the boys this great tent for Easter.  I desperately needed to get some packing done...we are leaving for the beach tomorrow! Two boys make it very difficult to pack.  Well maybe I should clarify...sweet, adorable, very funny Sam makes it sooo difficult to pack!  Tanner is such a BIG helper...he loves to work and do chores...I know but I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts!  After they used the tent as WRESTLE-MANIA they finally settled down and watched a movie.

Loving baseball season!

When it comes to his sports...Tanner is all about giving 100%, focusing and WINNING!  Something you may already know about Tanner is he likes to win and he likes to be first (i cant imagine where he got it from)!  Most of the kiddos his age are monkeying around during the game...hanging upside down from the bench, making goofy faces or telling their mamas their tired and hungry.  Tanner sits quietly, waits his turns and watches the game.  I love wathching him be sooo serious!

Sam had to wear his "baseball jersey"!  I dug out Tanner's uniform from last year...the pants fit!

The popsicle man came to the game so YES we let the boys eat popsicles at 7:30!

I love sweaty hair!

I am little strawberry...red and sweet!

Love, love these dirty little hands:)

Sung to: "I'm A Little Teapot"

I am a strawberry,

Red and Sweet.

See all my seeds

And my cap so neat.

When I grow ripe

And ready to eat,

Pop off my cap--

A tasty Treat!

Here Fishy-Fishy

One of the boys favorite things to do is feed the fish at the Botanical Gardens.  Word of advice...buy your fish food at the front desk when you go in...the food machines by the pond are always empty!  If you've never feed the fish...brace yourself...they go wild.  We like to start throwing the food where there are NO fish...slowly they come and then they go crazy!  They literally jump out of the water!
