Lichterman Date with Tanner

One of our "family goals" this year was to be more intentional or to play more intentional with our boys. For me this means planning intentional 1-1 time with Tanner. Chris has always been really good about spending separate time with each of the boys. I however always seem to have BOTH of them.

Tanner and I had a date to Lichterman Nature Center last week to see the scarecrows, take a nature walk and see the turtles. I love spending time with my sweet sweet boy. His little mind just amazes me...he's figured out how to multiple and divide and he asks me science questions that stump me daily. When we were walking around looking at the scarecrows, he really analyzed how they were put together and noticed the details of construction I would have never even seen.

Montgomery Bell

This past weekend we headed to Nashville for a Taekwondo tournament and to see a great friends sweet new baby boy. The tournament was actually in Dickson, Tn which is about 45 minutes from Nashville.

1st place

1st place green belt and 1st place blue belt from Midtown Taekwondo

Ace Diner
This was a really great, modern little diner in the heart of Dickson, TN. The food was excellent and so was the coffee which is much needed when traveling with 2 boys.

Family rule...no phones at the dinner table.

We stayed at the State Park, Montgomery Bell. It was beautiful. I will admit I was a little skeptical when Chris did not take my downtown Nashville advice and booked a house here instead but it was amazing. Honestly I highly recommend it for a family or a weekend trip with your husband. We stayed 2 nights and we were able to ride bikes, run and go for a hike with the boys.

Thankful

Chris is 9 months into 18 months of school. I am so proud of him for managing work, family and school so well. He has made straight A's...i'm so proud!

It is a huge financial sacrifice...but totally worth it! We are selling his car and he is going to drive the old jeep we have. We will be staying in our tiny house longer even though we outgrew it a year or two ago.

Thanks to my dad for teaching me that debt sucks bc otherwise we'd be up to our eyeballs in it so instead we do without...the stuff and the debt that comes with it!

A huge thank you to my dad and sister who have been an unbelievable help with the boys when we can not get everywhere at once...we would not be 9 months into his school without your help. I literally need their help 3 times a week now even if it is just to pick someone up, watch them during an open house or  babysit while I have a meeting. Having a 1st grader is busy:)

Thanks to mom and dad for buying all of Tanner's uniforms as well...that money has now become tuition money for Chris. This was a HUGE blessing...uniforms are expensive.

So tonight am I so grateful for Chris' diligence and thankful for my amazing family.

some SAM time

Mornings with this guy are lots of fun. I never know what to expect but I can be sure he'll make me laugh and that my house will be a mess. The other morning I realized he turned 3 and a half...I can't believe it when did that happen. So for now I am cherishing our sweet mornings.

Sometimes our days get really busy and its hard to get the quality time with everyone but the time is passing quickly and I'm determined to make the most of it.

He has too many super-heros to carry around so he needs some wheels to push them around.

Sam has Pre-K 2 days a week. It starts an hour after Tanner's school but is right down the street. Most mornings we go to the park and swing...some days we run to Target or Starbucks.

Flexible...it's the name of the game! Some days Sam has to run to the office with me for  a minute...luckily it's loads of fun.

This boys loves some books...especially super-hero books.

Thankful for a sweet neighbor...who has like 10 nieces and nephews. The boys think her yard is an extension of ours.

Oh Yolo how we love you.

The neighbors again.

Loving super-heros still.

Painting a rocket ship he picked out at Hancocks.

This guy wakes up at 5:00am "hun-ree" so I have give choices to fix for himself. He can now get up and get his own cereal!
