SAM is TWO!!!

It's still hard for me to say but SAM is TWO!
Sam requested a "ball" party for his 2nd birthday (yes it was weeks ago but better late then never for the post)! I decided we would have a SIMPLE, backyard Easter Egg hunt with BALL easter eggs(thankyou dollar Target aisle and Oriantal Trade)!!

All he wanted for his birthday was cake, balls and a bike...I hope his requests are always this simple.  Tanner, on the other hand, has his parties and gifts planned for the next several birthdays.
 Tanner=a planner like Mommy
Sam=Laid-back...go with the flow like Daddy

A new favorite book...thank you B and E!

I always forget candles...so glad HighPoint grocery is a short walk away!

The ball eggs...FYI...M&M's not good inside the eggs...BIG MESS!

Tanner is always such a big help...he hid all of the eggs for us!

bye-bye BABY

My sweet, sweet Sam.  I can't believe you're 2.  Mommy is so sad...no more babies in our house! You are such a precious gift from God.  We love you so very much.

This is the sweet daygown we brought you home from the hospital in.  Those sweet cheeks and all of that curly red hair.  You were the snuggliest baby.

No more wearing bubbles for you...at least you still have legs that make me want to squeeze them!

Now it's all about the
"jersey's"in our house.
Big D you your very first jersey for your 2nd b-day.
You were grinning from ear to ear when you opened it.
Tanner was never a picky or opinionated dresser but you SAM have
alot to say about what you will and will not wear!
Lucky for you...you are baby number 2...and I am loving that "jersey's"=no ironing!!!!

LaTely

SPRINKLERS!

Oh the tree stump...Tanner would not let us grind this guy up!  Not only does he hammer away at it, he also considers it a "science experiment".  Did you know that there are living organisms living inside? Did you know there are 3 different fungus growing on it? Did you know with time it will decompose itself?  These are all arguements Tanner gave for not having the stump ground!

Painting...I love when we can take the messes outside!

"Super-high" race track

More racing!

meet our new PETs

Scooby and Shaggy ...our crickets Tanner's "SHOW N TELL" said "wanted dead or alive...an insect" After trying all day to catch a bug, Mommy found one when the boys were sleeping in the PetCo section of the backyard. I thought the crickets would live at school... no such luck... they came home... we named them... feed them oatmeal and oranges... took them on carrides... a walk around the block ( to look for their family/Tanner)... and a bike ride... sang to them (Sam)... then they died! The boys have asked if I would talk to the easter bunny about a new pet bug...or worms... BOYS!

the infamous pose

Thumb in mouth.... finger in belly button! What are we going to do with him!

"OUR" Big Backyard

I might should have titled this post Slow and Steady wins the race. We started working on our backyard awhile ago but with all of this crazy weather we were just now able to really get started. Luckily for me... the concrete truck and workers provided hours of entertainment for the boys (and me!) We even ate our snack and lunch in front of the backdoors. We still have lots of work...sod, flowers, furniture but luckily neither Chris nor I are instant gratification people! So for now we are enjoying riding our scooters on the new patio!

HOT Donuts...COLD drinks...50 cents

The Chef

Sprinkling and Powdering

Most Saturday mornings, Chris takes the boys to breakfast while I run! However every so often Chris makes donuts! Tanner has decided this could be his business...we made trays and the boys spent an hour selling us donuts, sprite and strawberries. Tanner was happy to trade food and drinks for a nickel...Sam would pretend to give you something and then decide he preferred the food over the nickel!
